Do people listen to you? How are you communicating?
Are you too assertive, neutral or passive?
Assertive - clear communication, eye-contact, direct
Neutral - objective, fact-based, unemotional
Passive - withdrawing, indirect, quiet
If you are coming on too strong and butting heads with the other person, move back into the neutral or withdrawing stance and allow the other person to reemerge.
If you are neutral, and the other person is over powering you, move into the neutral or withdrawing stance to protect yourself.
And, if you are withdrawing and need to speak up for yourself, try the neutral stance, and deal in the facts and not emotion.
